Connection Services is seeking a Network Engineer to join our Technical Staffing Division for a contract to hire opportunity onsite in Brunswick, GA. This is a contract to hire opportunity with benefits.

We are seeking a highly skilled Network Engineer to support and enhance a complex, home-grown network environment. This role requires deep hands-on experience with Extreme Networks technologies and strong core networking fundamentals. The ideal candidate will be comfortable operating in a custom, non-standardized infrastructure and collaborating closely with internal teams to maintain, secure, and optimize the network.

Key Responsibilities

· Design, implement, and support enterprise network infrastructure with a strong emphasis on Extreme Networks switching and routing

· Troubleshoot complex Layer 2/Layer 3 network issues in a home-grown network environment

· Configure, maintain, and optimize network performance, availability, and scalability

· Implement and support network security solutions, including Palo Alto firewalls

· Participate in network upgrades, migrations, and lifecycle management initiatives

· Develop and maintain network documentation, standards, and best practices

· Work cross-functionally with security, systems, and application teams to support business requirements

Required Qualifications

· Hands-on experience with Extreme Networks (this is a must-have)

· Strong knowledge of enterprise networking fundamentals (routing, switching, VLANs, TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, etc.)

· Experience supporting custom or home-grown network environments

· CCNA or Arista certification (active or previously held)

· Experience with Palo Alto Networks firewalls (configuration, troubleshooting, or operations)

Preferred Qualifications

· Palo Alto certification (PCNSA, PCNSE, or similar)

· Experience integrating Extreme Networks with security platforms

· Exposure to multi-vendor network environments

· Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills
