The Senior Systems Engineer designs and deploys solutions in virtual infrastructure with VMware. This role involves designing and implementing VMware solutions with vCenter, clusters, Site Recovery Manager (SRM), server, and storage. The engineer will work with customers on private cloud discussions involving vCenter Operations Managers (VCOPS), charge back, configuration manager, and vCloud Director (VCD). Additionally, the engineer will design and deliver highly available and scalable infrastructure/hardware and server/virtualization solutions to support the computing and data needs of our end customers. The role also includes providing high-level technical support, capacity planning, and utilization assessments of related technologies. The engineer will tune and monitor systems, work with vendors for related support and services, and create server/data center environment documentation for designed solutions, including Statements of Work (SOW). Communication with CIOs and highly technical customers to roadmap the vendor’s value proposition and our services value proposition is also a key responsibility.

• Pre-sales design of server/storage solutions.
• Post-sale delivery of server/storage solutions.
• Provides high-level technical support of related issues, capacity planning, and utilization assessments of related technologies.
• Tunes and monitors systems.
• Works with vendors for related support and services.
• Creates server/data center environment documentation for designed solutions, including Statements of Work (SOW).
• Communicates with CIOs and highly technical customers to roadmap the vendor’s value proposition and our services value proposition.
• Attends training to maintain strategic certification (technical knowledge).
• Participates in practice services and solutions development.

• Working knowledge of pre-sales design and post-sales delivery and deployment of storage infrastructure and server/virtualization.
• Ability to translate enterprise data center and storage-related jargon to diverse groups of technical and non-technical users.
• Ability to create server/data center environment documentation.
• Ability to put together solutions including hardware/virtualization software and creating Statements of Work (SOW).
• Ability to communicate with CIOs and highly technical customers to roadmap the vendor’s value proposition and our services value proposition.
• Strong knowledge of troubleshooting in storage and server/virtualization issues.
• Experience in vCenter Operations Managers (VCOPS), vCloud Director (VCD), vSphere.
• Ability to make rapid and concise decisions based on sound technical basis.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
