Responsibilities

Senior Program Manager

Working under minimal supervision of the Director/Manager—referring only exceptional problems and issues for management review or approval—the Senior Program Manager is responsible for executing campaigns that drive adoption and consumption of Microsoft software products and solutions, ultimately contributing to measurable revenue growth and profitability for Connection.

This role involves developing and executing programs across multiple sales subsidiaries to align with key partner and Connection objectives. The Senior Program Manager collaborates closely with internal stakeholders (Sales, Sales Management, Product Management, TSG, and Finance) and external vendor resources to formulate goals, align strategies, and deliver impactful results.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Strategically assessing, operationalizing, and refining programs to ensure effectiveness and alignment with business goals.
  • Driving process improvement initiatives to streamline operations and simplify the selling process for Account Managers.
  • Cultivating strong cross-functional relationships—particularly with the Microsoft Alliance team, Sales, Marketing, and Technology Solutions—to ensure repeatable, end-to-end solution execution.

Specific Focus Area: The Senior Program Manager will also be responsible for managing the workflow and execution of Microsoft project funding programs, including ECIF (End Customer Investment Funds), AMM (Azure Migration & Modernization), vouchers, and CSI (Customer Success Investments). This includes overseeing funding requests, tracking utilization, ensuring compliance with Microsoft guidelines, and maximizing the impact of these programs to support strategic initiatives and customer success.


JOB DUTIES: 

Develops, implements and executes program strategies to support and drive the sales growth objectives for Microsoft Software in conjunction with our sales leadership. Teams with assigned alliance team members to communicate pipeline and share forecasts with sales and Leadership. Executes vendor MDF (Market Development Funds) plans for rapid time-to-market, motivating sales for optimum results. Works directly with Marketing to ensure all plans are being executed.
 
Owns the submission and execution process related to Microsoft project funding programs, such as ECIF, AMM, CSI, and Vouchers.
 
Helps maintain vendor pipeline and communicates points of light and areas of opportunity to leadership and Sales management. Effectively communicates all marketing programs and initiatives within the Software Product Management team as well as the vendor’s customer success team.
 
Ownership of educating the Account Managers and presales teams on Software products and programs, including technical trainings and providing program overviews. Develops, manages, and executes sales enablement plans, incentive programs and other activities.
 
Track, review, and report profitability of marketing programs and manages MDF Budget Tracker and marketing proof-of-execution claims.
  • Creates metrics outlining success of marketing programs.
 
Performs all other duties or special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

Working knowledge of Microsoft funding programs (ECIF, AMM, Vouchers)
 
Intermediate to advanced user skills for Microsoft Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, Teams, SharePoint)
 
Working knowledge of Webex with ability to participate and host virtual meetings
 
Working knowledge of PowerPoint with ability to create and edit presentations
 
Understanding of customer software purchasing behavior
 
Working knowledge of customer service with ability to anticipate needs of customer
 
Discreet with demonstrated ability to work in a confidential executive environment using good judgment while acting as an ambassador for the company
 
Proven track record in vendor program management and strategy development
 
Demonstrated leadership ability is required to effectively interact at all levels of management internally, with customers, and with Microsoft management and field sales
 
Excellent written communication skills with ability to compose professional business communications via email, letter, and proposals.
 
Excellent verbal communication skills with ability to present professional presentations
