Job Summary

Working under general supervision of the VP Sales, relying on experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals, the Sales Director develops and implements Sales initiatives targeted toward existing and new markets to maximize sales revenues and profit and meet corporate objectives. The Sales
Director manages, coaches and motivates the Sales Managers and Account Managers to achieve sales goals and objectives. The Director assists Sales Managers and Account Managers in identifying key accounts to ensure quality service is provided their customers. Fosters open communication between
Marketing, Product Management, and Sales to improve service and support to customers. Focused on meeting and exceeding quarterly quotas.

Responsibilities

Primary Job Duties

  • Leads an organization of 50-100 people, including Sales Managers, Account Managers, and
    Sales Support Staff
    • Oversees and develops the sales and sales support teams, providing coaching and development, leadership skills, and managing personnel activities such as staffing, appraisals, motivation, discipline, and attrition.
    • Coaches Sales Managers to enhance performance and achieve sales targets
    • Empowers Account Managers to effectively manage their pipelines, close deals, and achieve individual targets
    • Mentors Account Managers providing guidance and support to foster professional growth and development
    • Fosters a positive sales culture focused on customer satisfaction, collaboration, and accountability
  • Manages an assigned geographic sales area to maximize sales revenues and meet corporate objectives. This includes accurate forecasting of annual, quarterly, and monthly sales revenues, developing plans for sales growth, directing Sales Managers and Account Managers, and identifying and growing the account base
  • Leads BSG Growth Initiatives with top tier vendor partners (i.e. Microsoft, Cisco, Dell, Lenovo, HPI, HPE, etc.)
  • Develops, leads, and executes on strategic fiscal year plans to grow revenue, gross profit, gross margins, and advanced technology
  • Grows mid-market and strategic verticals (Healthcare, Manufacturing, and Retail)
  • Develops organizational strategies and tactics to grow New Accounts and Buying Accounts
  • Maintains and develops strong relationships with C-Level decision makers in top strategic clients
  • Works collaboratively with leaders across TSX, PM, Marketing, HR, Training, Operations, and the TIDC on strategic initiatives and projects to solve business challenges
  • Collaborates with the RFP team on strategic customer opportunities to drive business growth
  • Tracks sales metrics, analyzes performance data, identifies areas for improvement, and provides detailed reports to Senior Management and Executive Leadership
  • Participates in meetings with key clients, assisting Sales Managers and Account Managers with maintaining relationships, negotiating and closing deals.
  • Reviews and analyzes sales performance against programs to determine effectiveness.
  • Takes responsibility for accurate quarterly sales forecasting, ensuring alignment with company goals
  • Provides analysis, insight, and ongoing monitoring of market trends to identify opportunities and threats
  • Effectively controls department budget
    • Develops operating budgets
    • Manages personnel costs
    • Analyzes and controls department expenses
  • Attracts new talent, develops and retains top leadership and seller talent within the organization
  • Attends regular
  • Manages multiple personnel challenges and partners with HR when necessary
  • Performs all other duties or special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

Required competencies:

  • Experience creating department budgets and managing P&L matters.
  • Proven ability to develop short and long term business plans.
  • Skilled at effectively establishing strong peer and subordinate and executive level relationships throughout the organization.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Outside the box thinking.
  • Vision to identify goals and establish strategic priorities.
  • Excellent oral and written skills, ability to present in an effective manner to groups of all sizes and
  • Possesses strong business acumen and experience in a fast paced environment.
  • Ability to deal effectively with ambiguity while making sound business decision.
  • Strong understanding of sales, leadership, coaching, and motivating.
