Responsibilities

The Senior Manager, Revenue oversees revenue accounting for assigned business unit, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP standards and accurate revenue reporting. The Sr Manager manages the revenue recognition processes, focusing on reseller arrangements and professional services. Key responsibilities in addition to accurate revenue recognition include team leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and partnering with Sales and IT to enhance processes and systems.

  • Leads the team responsible for the complete and accurate recognition of revenue including the development and maintenance of revenue recognition policies and procedures.
  • Manages and communicates throughout the periodic financial close process across all stakeholders providing required information for external reporting and disclosure.
  • Supports internal and external audit activities including SOX compliance.
  • Partners closely with Sales and FP&A to ensure precise and timely reporting of revenue.
  • Develops a strong understanding of the quote-to-cash cycle focusing on process and data capture which effects revenue recognition and downstream reporting to improve automation and streamline close processes.
  • Collaborates with the information technology team to develop requirements for system enhancements and testing of changes before being placed into production.
  • Assists Sales, Services, and Legal teams with contract review to ensure proper revenue treatment
  • Assesses the potential impact of business operations, new product offerings and pricing on revenue recognition
  • Mentors the revenue team members and support career development

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in accounting, with a focus on revenue recognition
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex accounting concepts clearly.
  • Effective leadership and team management skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills to include creating presentations, creating documents in Word to included advanced formatting, creating spreadsheets to include the use of macros
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise accounting software
  • Advanced knowledge of accounting principles with ability to provide accurate and timely financial statements
  • Knowledge to understand service contracts to determine appropriate key billing dates and amounts
  • Knowledge of overall operations of a service organization
  • Articulate with ability to express oneself clearly and professionally in written and oral communication
  • Adaptable with ability to switch tasks based on shifting priorities
  • Interpersonal skills with ability to work well with all levels of the organization
  • Quick study with ability to master a situation or learn new things with minimum direction or training
  • Supportive mentor with ability to guide and develop and direct team members to accomplish goals
  • Ability to meet deadlines
