Position Overview

The Director of Infrastructure, Design, and Optimization plays a pivotal role in shaping, implementing, and optimizing AI infrastructure for our clients across the spectrum, from edge devices to the cloud. The Director leads a team responsible for the design and implementation of versatile computing infrastructures for customers primarily that are optimized for AI applications, ensuring performance and scalability across edge, on-prem, and cloud environments. The Director's expertise drives the evolution of capabilities, ensuring scalability, resilience, and optimal performance for the burgeoning AI demands of the future across a broad spectrum of use cases and industry verticals.

 

This is a remote or hybrid opportunity preferably based near our corporate offices in Merrimack, NH, or Boston or New York metropolitan  areas

 

Responsibilities

  • Shapes and defines the strategic direction for AI infrastructure within our customer’s environments, ensuring alignment with their company objectives and future AI requirements.
  • Leads a team to design and implement versatile computing infrastructures that are optimized for AI applications, ensuring performance and scalability across edge, on-prem, and cloud environments.
  • Collaborates with a vibrant team of experts to explore, evaluate, and integrate the latest technologies in AI and computing.
  • Embraces the challenge of solving complex problems and seizes opportunities to bring transformative solutions to our diverse clientele, making a global impact.
  • Spearhead initiatives related to edge computing, focusing on low latency, efficient computation, and seamless data integration.

  • Oversee the design and implementation of robust cloud solutions, ensuring scalability, security, and cost-effectiveness for AI workloads.

  • Expands knowledge, explores new horizons, and experiments with innovative ideas in a supportive and dynamic environment.
  • Leads projects from conception to deployment, ensuring our AI solutions surpass customer expectations and set new industry benchmarks.
  • Engages with internal and external stakeholders, including vendors, partners, and customers, ensuring transparent communication and optimal solution implementation.
  • Evaluates and selects appropriate technologies, tools, and platforms to support AI workloads, considering factors such as cost-effectiveness, scalability, and flexibility.
  • Stay updated with the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in the AI infrastructure domain, introducing innovations that keep the company at the industry's cutting edge.

  • Guides and mentors junior team members, sharing insights and best practices to foster their professional growth.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field required, Master's degree preferred or possessing equivalent hands-on experience (15+ years) in infrastructure design and management, with a focus on AI workloads.
  • Familiarity with AI platforms, tools, and frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, and ONNX.
  • Proficient knowledge of edge computing, cloud platforms, and services
  • Strong understanding of networking, data storage, and security protocols in the context of AI workloads
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a track record of building and leading high-performing teams.
  • Passionate about AI and its potential to change the world, with a deep understanding of the infrastructure requirements for AI and ML workloads.
  • Uses advanced techniques, theories, and processes to complete work.
  • Leadership ability to champion and guide projects from conception to deployment
