Overview

Connection has a fantastic opportunity through our Technical Staffing division for IT Asset Manager. This is a full-time, permanent hybrid position with benefits.

 

The IT Asset Manager will oversee the full lifecycle of hardware, software, and technology assets, ensuring accurate tracking, compliance, cost optimization, and effective utilization across the organization. This role will develop and improve asset management processes, reporting, vendor relationships, and procurement strategies while partnering with IT and business teams.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the lifecycle of IT hardware, software, licenses, and contracts, ensuring accurate records, compliance, and reliability.
  • Develop and improve IT asset management processes, procedures, and controls.
  • Maintain accurate hardware and software asset databases, including lifecycle and configuration information.
  • Develop and deliver KPIs, metrics, dashboards, and standardized reports for management and business stakeholders.
  • Partner with IT infrastructure and business teams to identify asset trends, performance issues, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Support IT procurement, budgeting, licensing, and cost-control initiatives to optimize technology spending.
  • Manage and negotiate with vendors and technology partners to ensure service, pricing, and contract requirements are met.
  • Establish and maintain documentation for asset management, configuration management, processes, and reporting.
  • Coordinate with local IT resources and provide guidance to ensure consistent asset management practices across the organization.
  • Identify opportunities to improve asset utilization, operational efficiency, compliance, and lifecycle management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 3+ years of IT Asset Management experience or experience in a closely related IT operations role.
  • 2+ years of experience managing or leading staff/resources.
  • Strong knowledge of IT hardware, software, licensing, and asset lifecycle management.
  • Experience developing and implementing strategic asset management processes.
  • Strong understanding of software licensing agreements and vendor contracts.
  • Knowledge of IT Service Management (ITSM) processes and best practices.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while collaborating effectively across teams.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, vendor management, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong understanding of business operations and the ability to align IT asset strategies with organizational goals.
