Overview

Technician 2 - Depot

Working under direct supervision of the Team Leader, selecting from a variety of established procedures to accomplish assigned duties and responsibilities, the Technician II, Depot is responsible for ensuring defective computer products are repaired and refurbished with high quality, while meeting customer, manufacturer and industry standards. The Technician II, Depot assists and mentors Technician I level employees to perform all parts of the job and ensure that all refurbishment processes are followed.

Responsibilities

·        Performs moderate to marginally advanced testing, troubleshooting and repairing of defective computer systems.

·        Ensures contents and specs of refurbished and repaired items are validated for completeness and high quality of work.

·        Ensures refurbished and repaired items meet customer, manufacturer and industry standards upon completion

·        Mentors, trains and assists Technician 1 to perform all parts of the job

·        Keeps certifications already obtained current and up to date and attains additional certifications required to repair equipment from different manufacturers.

·        Ensures all assigned training courses are completed in a timely fashion.

·        Receives returned inventory into the Refurbishment Lab and assists with location management (put-away) and auditing of Refurbished items in warehouse locations

·        Performs all other duties or special projects as assigned

USD $28.89/Hr.

Qualifications

 

·        Operating knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Linux and Apple operating systems.

·        Technology certifications with ability to meet and stay current on industry standards, manufacturer trainings and certification requirements to perform all parts of the job

·        Good diagnostic and troubleshooting skills

·        Advanced technical aptitude including strong knowledge of, and the ability to identify components and software used in computers.

·        Attention to details in testing and refurbishing products

·        Proven hands-on experience with repair or configuration of computer systems.

·        Technology reading comprehension with ability to read more complex work instruction documents or schematics.

·        Technology troubleshooting and mechanical skills.

·        Leadership skills with ability to mentor and to assist entry level technicians

·        Adaptable with ability to switch tasks based on shifting priorities

·        Interpersonal and communication skills with ability to work well with all levels of the organization

·        Detail oriented with item by item focus, meticulous attention to detail with ability to proofread for accuracy

·        Judgment with ability to formulate opinions, compare and decide with good sense

·        Organized state of mind with ability to document activities, set priorities and meet deadlines

·        Proven ability to successfully work in a team environment.

·        Supportive mentor with ability to guide and develop team members

 

    • CompTIA A+ Certification and at least 2 manufacturer certifications is required.
